Domain Name Lifecycle & Fee Application

Grace Period (0–45 days post-expiration)

• Action: Delete domain at no additional charge
• Cost: USD $0 (included in registry redemption process)
• Availability: Domain is held by Trustname

Redemption Period (46–75 days post-expiration)

• Action: Restore domain using the applicable restore fee
• Cost: As listed below by TLD fee tier
• Availability: Domain remains registered to original registrant
• Refund Status: Non-refundable upon processing

Expired & Deleted (Day 76+)

• Action: Domain released to public registration
• Cost: Standard new registration fee applies
• Availability: First-come, first-served

Restore Process

Step 1: Initiate Restore Request

1. Log into your Trustname account
2. Navigate to Domain Management → Expired Domains
3. Select the domain to restore
4. Top up your wallet with the amount of the restoration fee and contact our support team

Step 2: Payment Processing

• Payment method accepted: Credit card, PayPal, bank transfer (as enabled for your account)
• Currency: USD (automatic conversion applied for other currencies)
• Confirmation: Receipt issued immediately upon processing

Step 3: Domain Reactivation

• Timeframe: 1–24 hours
• Status: Domain becomes active and registered to your account
• Nameservers: Restored to last active configuration (can be modified post-restore)

Step 4: Renewal

• Restored domains follow standard renewal rules
• Renewal notice sent 30, 15, 7, 3, 2 days and 24 hours before the new expiration date
• Auto-renewal available (if enabled on account)

Q: Will my website be restored after I pay the fee?
A: The domain registration will be restored. Your website hosting is managed separately and may require additional restoration actions depending on your hosting provider.

Q: Do I pay both the restore fee and the renewal fee?
A: You pay the restore fee to recover the domain during the redemption period. The next annual renewal fee applies when the domain's registration period expires again (typically 1 year post-restore).

Q: Are there discounts for restoring multiple domains?
A: Restore fees are fixed per TLD. Volume discounts are not applied to redemption fees; contact Support for enterprise restoration requests.

Q: What happens if my account has a balance due?
A: Restore requests cannot be processed until all outstanding account balances are cleared.
